Hi! I'm Brooke. I'm a wife & mother of two. I'm an Ohio native, but have called North Carolina home since high school. During the birth of my first child in 2016, I felt so informed, supported, and empowered even though things didn't quite go according to plan. I realized a lot of families aren't able to reflect positively on their birthing experience, and this burdened my heart to become a birth doula. I believe every family deserves to be seen, heard, and supported, no matter their birth preferences.

I have worked in a variety of capacities before arriving in the birth world. I studied Exercise Science in college, where I learned the amazing things our bodies are capable of. I've worked as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab, and as a wellness coach in a hospital setting. I've worked specifically with women, people with high blood pressure, diabetes, as well as the general population. I was also in full-time ministry, working with college students and teenagers. In that capacity, I learned to meet people where they're at, to comfort and to hold space for someone. These experiences brought me to a new understanding of wholeness - body, mind, and spirit. This set me up perfectly to team up alongside families in their birth journeys.

Being invited into a birth space is not something I take lightly, and supporting families throughout this adventure is my passion and calling. It would be my honor and privilege to serve you in this important season of life.

Hello! My name is Julie, and I am Charlotte's only certified fertility awareness educator, as well as a birth doula.   

I believe in, honor, and encourage physiological birth. I believe in the power of connectedness, of relationships between women within a community. As a recent graduate from The Well: School of Body Literacy, I counsel teens, women, and couples in Fertility Awareness and its many uses. People who experience menstruation have access to a wealth of knowledge about their health literally at their fingertips when they practice Body Literacy and Fertility Awareness. Through the use of this practice, I will be able to teach you how to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, achieve a pregnancy when you're ready, and to gauge your hormonal and gynecological health. I strongly believe that all girls, women, and those who care about them, should have access to this information. I offer 1:1 support, a group 5-Week Body Literacy Class Series about 4x per year, and free workshops around Charlotte. 

My favorite group to work with is those who want to ditch hormonal birth control and avoid pregnancy without pills, implants, devices, or injections. I can help you get your cycle back on track and ensure you don’t get pregnant when you don’t want to. I also love to work with those who are experiencing menstrual abnormalities, hormone disruption, or period pain/s. 

Fertility Awareness practices can also be incredibly helpful during postpartum, when intimacy can feel intimidating. Your partner might not understand why sex feels so different after your baby came to be. Combining Fertility Awareness with special criteria during this sensitive time, you will be able to feel confident again that intimacy won’t lead to another baby until you are ready.

I am a wife and mother of three with over 10 years of experience in educating and supporting mothers in breastfeeding, childbirth, and nutrition.  I am a La Leche League Leader, ToLabor Professional Trained Doula, and Birth Photographer. 

Although my husband and I prepared for childbirth through Bradley Method Childbirth classes and a significant amount of reading, our first two children were born by cesarean section.  With a knowledgeable and supportive care provider and doula for my third birth, I was able to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Choosing a birth location that supports your needs and desires as well as a knowledgeable and supportive primary care provider is one of the most important decisions you can make that will affect the choices that you have in labor and the outcome of your birth.

Hello! My name is Tashona. I was born in sunny Florida and raised in the wonderful state of North Carolina. As a 10 year military spouse I've moved many, many times and am thrilled to have landed back at home in North Carolina. My family includes my husband of over 20 wonderful years and our four amazing children. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Hospital-Based Birth Doula. I’m passionate about lifting clients up throughout their lives — especially navigating pregnancy and the postpartum period. I offer mobile in-home physical therapy appointments. With the flexibility to come to you during pregnancy and early postpartum. I specifically am a pelvic floor physical therapist- which addresses bladder, bowel, sexual function, pelvic pain, and related orthopedic conditions. I grew up thinking that these topics were taboo. Hi, I’m Staci. I am a Vermont native who moved to Charlotte, NC in 2014 and currently reside in Statesville, NC. I am a mother, partner, doula, educator, advocate, and ally and am truly honored to be supporting clients in North Carolina.

The first birth I ever witnessed was in 2000 at the age of 13 and I was hooked! Watching my baby sister enter this world changed my world in all the right ways. Eventually, the birth of my oldest child in 2010 inspired me, even more, to follow my calling of birth work and in 2011, I began my journey as a doula with DONA! After the birth of my two younger children in 2015 and 2016, I began to actively support clients in their desired birth space, full time. I am a strong believer in birthers, babies, and the inherent wisdom and instinctual capabilities within all of us to give birth in the way that suits us best. This means that no matter how you decide to give birth, I will be by your side, supporting you through your journey. I will hear you, respect you, and encourage you, 110%.

Throughout my journey supporting clients of all cultures, beliefs, races, religions, and more, I can say that I have grown as a person and as a birth worker. The birth of your child is an experience you will never forget and in understanding this, I am so honored to be invited into your space. I will never replace your partner, but rather help them support you. Your partner brings love and history with them, and I bring skills and experience. Together, we create a beautiful support system for you all the while I additionally support your partner. I am so excited to meet you and the support system you’re bringing with you into your birth space.

My office is in downtown Cornelius, right off of exit 28 on I-77 or I can come to you, whichever is most convenient. I offer virtual and in-person consultations free of charge.

Hello, my name is Kira Kimble and I am a Certified Doula, Certified Traditional Postpartum Birthworker, Certified placenta encapsulation specialist and Doula Trainer. I am also the owner of MINE-R-T Doula Company, Charlotte’s first black-owned doula agency. We offer birth support, postpartum care, childbirth education classes and placenta encapsulation services. We are an informative resource, source of support, and labor coaches for pregnant individuals and their partners.

I became a doula in 2012 to help individuals have gratifying and empowering childbirth experiences. I have been married for 22 years and have 4 children. Prior to raising my family, I worked in marketing for almost 10 years at The Charlotte Observer, The Gaston Gazette and The Winston-Salem Journal. I grew up in Erie, PA. I attended Phillips Academy in Andover, MA and then earned a degree in business from Wake Forest University. I enjoy sports, music and languages. I studied Japanese and Spanish in college and doula for families in English and Spanish.

We support individuals and their partners in a variety of settings including hospitals, birth centers, and private homes.
