Short bio:
Congratulations! I’m so glad you're here!
I'm Monica, a DONA International trained birth and postpartum Doula. After completing my training, I broadened my scope with additional training in the areas of infant/child CPR, choking and injury prevention, car seat safety, support in neonatal resuscitation and prenatal and infant loss support. As far as I can remember I have always been fascinated by the ability women have to grow, birth and nurture their babies. I became ecstatic when I found out that a Doula was a “thing”. I love children ( would have had 10+ if I could) and I absolutely loved being pregnant. As a nanny fresh out of high school I have assisted many families with caring for their children. Caring for others has been something deeply rooted within me. My passion to assist families with newborn babies is what ultimately led me to becoming a Doula. I look forward to the opportunity to educate and help other families enjoy their experience as much as I did.
I believe every woman should be supported in the way they want to give birth, in the environment they feel is best for them and with the people they choose to have around them. I believe my role as a Doula is to do everything I can to provide you with non-judgmental physical and emotional support. I will help you navigate labor techniques, make informed decisions for medical interventions, provide referrals as well as help with creating a personalized birth plan. My overall goal is to ensure your birthing experience is filled with positive memories that will be cherished for years to come.
